It was a gift from the people of France, inspired by professor and politician, Édouard de Laboulaye, to celebrate the perseverance of freedom and democracy in the United States. Today it is a symbol of American freedom.

Lady Liberty came with torch blazing and stands tall at my work desk. Nice detail and color. A great addition to my collection of eclectic bob's ... dig it!
